Trentham Youth Worker Trust
The Trentham Youth Worker Trust was established in 2000 to further Christian ministry to young people in the Upper Hutt community by:
- identifying needs relevant to Christian ministry to young people;
- providing personnel and/or resources to meet such identified needs;
- providing resources to support such personnel; and
- providing other Christian ministry to young people that the Trustees may identify, with the consent of the Vestry of this Parish.
There are at least four Trustees, including the Vicar of this Parish or his/her nominee and three trustees appointed by the Vestry of this Parish. The Trustees may elect a further three trustees representing the interests of the Upper Hutt community, provided that the Vestry of this Parish consents to their appointment.
Currently the Trust employs Stanley Ravenswood as Junior Youth Facilitator for the Parish. Stanley also works as part of the 24-7 youth work team at Maidstone Intermediate, and the trust provides further funding to support him in this role.
The Trust organises fund-raising activities to support Stanley and to support the involvement of Trentham young people in activities such as camps that they could not otherwise afford to attend. Anyone from the parish or the community who would like to support Stanley’s ministry or young people going to camp is welcome to become part of these efforts, which include BBQs at Mitre 10, stalls at March Madness and the Spring Festival, and an annual quiz.
If you would like to make a donation to the Trust, this can be done online into the Trentham Youth Worker Trust Bank Account (ANZ 06 0773 0222115 00, put your name and ‘Giving’ as reference) or send a cheque to Trentham Youth Worker Trust, PO Box 40-326, Upper Hutt 5140, Wellington..
