St Johns Knitting Group
The Knitting Group meets on Mondays at 1pm till 3.30pm and has people of all levels of knitting skill, from the absolute beginner to total genius.
We regularly knit children´s garments and adult blankets for two organisations; these are Mission without Borders using pure wool, and for Wellington City Mission using mostly acrylic 'wool'.
We also knit for anything else that is requested, including little Angels to be distributed during the Nativity Crib´s journeys at Christmas. neonatal baby clothes, toddlers' garments for a local kindergarten and some puppy blankets and jackets for strays at a local animal rescue centre..
Several knitters in the Parish cannot attend our actual group meeting but they knit as Outriders in their own time and send in the completed item when ready.
As our numbers grow it would be great to see even more groups forming, perhaps on different days as needed. Anyone interested in joining our group or starting one with friends and neighbours, or getting more information would be very welcome and could contact Judith Twist at 528 7873 or Audrey Harper at 970 6239.
